An Australian mountaineer died after being hit by a falling rock at Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipalilty-4 in Solukhumbu district on Thursday.
Police identified the deceased as Michael Jeffery, 33, of Australia.
The victim was on his way to scale Mt Ama Dablam (6,812m) when the incident occurred.
The incident happened as the mountaineer reached near to Camp II during the expedition.
The body has already been brought to Kathmandu.
