RJPN Presidium to remain intact even after General Convention

A Central Secretariat meeting of the RJPN agreed on a provision to keep the RJPN Presidium intact even after amending the party statute.
The party is planning to endorse the statute during the party convention slated for April 19-22, 2019. A political committee meeting of the RJPN had proposed to move ahead with chairman system by dissolving the presidium.
The RJPN, which recently submitted its amended statute to the Election Commission, has a provision to keep the RJPN Presidium intact even after the General Convention.
Apart from Presidium members, most of the members of political committee and central committee have expressed their dissatisfaction over such provision of the party statute.
Most of the office bearers and members including Vice-Chairman Brikhesh Chandra Lal and General Secretary Keshav Jha have been demanding that the elected central committees should run the party by dissolving the RJPN Presidium after the General Convention.
RJPN was formed after the merger of six Madhes-based parties on April 20, 2017.
According to the agreement, the unified party will be run on the basis of collective leadership with a system of presidium whereby all chairpersons all the six parties will rotate the party presidency.
Mahantha Thakur, Rajendra Mahato, Mahendra Raya Yadav, Sharat Singh Bhandari, and Anil Kumar Jha are in the RJPN Presidium.
The RJPN has intensified the preparations of the General Convention.
