Four persons including senior orthopedic surgeon Dr Govinda KC have submitted a memorandum to Department of Civil Personal Records (DCPR) seeking the documents regarding the retirement date of former Chief Justice (CJ) Gopal Prasad Parajuli.

“We are concerned by the media reports that controversial former CJ Parajuli got pension book from March 14, 2018 by producing a dodgy document at the Department of Civil Personal Records though his official retirement date was August 5, 2017. The work executed by the department is a controversy of serious public concerns,” the memorandum read.

In the memorandum was submitted by Dr KC, Om Prakash Aryal, Pritam Subedi and Suresh Kumar Mudvari on Sunday, they demanded the department provide the copy of documents regarding Parajuli’s pension book stating his retirement date as March 14, 2018. The applicants said they have been constantly expressing concerns regarding the matter.

Earlier in April, it was decided that pension book of former CJ Parajuli would be made only after he returned the additional facilities of seven months and nine days.There was confusion regarding the issuance of pension book of former CJ Parajuli due to lack of clarity about his date of retirement.

The memorandum has also sought the copies of the documents, and correspondences, based on the decision to make the pension book of Parajuli assuming August 5, 2017 as his retirement date.
