A French trekker died after he slipped from the trial and fell into the Marsyangdi River at Sirantal of Naso Rural Municipality-1 of Manang on Tuesday. He was heading towards Manang from Besisahar of Lamjung as part of Annapurna Circuit trek.
Manang police identified the deceased as 65-year-old Philip Te Gore.
DSP Khadka Bahadur Khatri at Manang District Police Office said the incident occurred near the Sirantal suspension bridge this afternoon.
He along with three others had come to Nepal to do Annapurna Circuit trek, the world famous trekking route.
DSP Khatri said that a police team has already been deployed to the incident site. Preparations are underway to send the body to Kathmandu for postmortem.
