3 dead in Jalbire bus accident
At least three people died after a passenger bus overturned at Jalbire along the Narayangadh-Muglin road section on Friday. 23 others have been injured in the incident.
At least three people died after a passenger bus overturned at Jalbire along the Narayangadh-Muglin road section on Friday. 23 others have been injured in the incident.
The bus (Na 5 Kha 4383), heading towards Pokhara from Kakadvitta, lost control and fell some 60 metres down the road into a gorge at Jalbire, which is around 7km from Muglin.
According to District Police Office, Chitwan, the deceased have been identified as bus driver Udayman Rajbanshi, 35, of Mechi Municipality-8, Jhapa, Hem Bahadur Rajbansi, 25, of Mechi Municipality-8, Jhapa and Tul Bahadur Thapa, 75, of Putali Bazaar Municipality-9, Syangja.
Police further informed that 22 of the 23 injured are receiving medical treatment at the Bharatpur-based Old Medical College while one is undergoing treatment at the New Medical College. All the injured are in stable condition, said police.
