3 family members among six dead in road accidents

Three members of a family died when a Scorpio with Indian registration number (BR 32 J 3475) hit a Dolakha-bound scooter (Ba 75 Pa 1949) at Roshi in Kavre district on Monday. Police identified the deceased as Sonam Lama (35), his wife Bimala Lama (30) and their son Manish Lama (12).
The family was heading to their home at Shailung Rural Municipality-7 in Dolakha for Dashain festival.
Sonam succumbed to the injuries at Dhulikhel Hospital while Bimala and Manish died during treatment at Norvic International Hospital in Kathmandu.
In Udayapur, two persons died in separate road accidents on Tuesday. Police said Dinesh Paudel, 50, died while Kul Bahadur Thapa sustained serious injuries in a motor-cycle accident at Triyuga Municipality-7.
The accident occurred as the motorbike skidded on a wooden bridge at Kauwai along the Nepaltar-Chuhade road stretch.
In another incident, Nakul Lugeli Magar, 35, of Bardibas, Mahottari, died when an auto-rickshaw met with an accident at Katari on the Siddicharan Highway in Udayapur.
The three-wheeler had veered off course before crashing nearly 200 metres down the road, said police.
In Rukum West, a nine-year-old boy died and two persons sustained critical injuries after they were struck by a bus at Salle in Musikot Municipality-1 on Tuesday afternoon. Police identified the deceased as Prayas BC. The injured persons were rushed to Nepalgunj for treatment.
In Baitadi, nine people were injured, two critically, when a bus overturned at Bangabagar in Dilasaini-6 on Tuesday.
The injured are being treated at Gokuleshwar Hospital, said police.
The bus operated by Pawandoot Transport overturned at around 5am. Police took driver Dhan Singh Thagunna into custody for investigation.
In Nuwakot, five persons were injured when a taxi met with an accident at Likhu Rural Municipality-3 at around 6am on Tuesday. The taxi was heading for Kathmandu from Rasuwa.
