Three persons have been arrested in possession of a Tibetan book with golden letters in Dolakha district.

Police have arrested Shivahari Thapa Tek Bahadur Thapa and Uddhav Gautam of Bhimeshwor Municipality-3 while they were searching for prospective clients to sell the 49-page book with having archeological value.

According to the information provided by the Archeological Department to the police, the book was more than 100-year-old, and which could rarely be found in ancient Buddhist monasteries.

The price of the book is Rs 1.9 million and a single page costs Rs 40,000.

DSP Basudev Pathak said that a case under Ancient Monument Preservation Act 2013 has been filed against them. They will be sentenced to five years in prison and will be fined if found guilty.
