2 killed, 14 injured in Dhankuta jeep accident

Two persons died and 14 others were injured when a jeep fell off a cliff at Hardiya in Sanghurigadhi Rural Municipality of Dhankuta district on Monday.
The Dharan bound jeep fell some 150 meters down, police said.
The deceased have been identified as Sanmaya Rai of Sanghurigadhi and Devi Maya Sunuwar of Panchthar. District police chief SP Surendra Gurung said the two died on the spot in the accident.
The injured have been sent to BP Koirala Health Institute in Dharan for treatment. Police suspected brake failure as the cause of the accident. The jeep driver has been apprehended.
