Three members of a family were buried to death when a landmass caved in at Rapti Rural Municipality-4, Dang, on Saturday.
Police identified the deceased as Shyam Kumari Chaudhary, 33, her sister-in-law Mina Chaudhary, 30, and her 12-year-old niece Rejina Chaudhary. The victims were digging up clay in a pit to daub their house when the land caved in and buried them.
When the victims did not return home till late afternoon, family members went in search of them. The trio were found dead under the debris of the falling landmass. The bodies were cremated after carrying out postmortem at Lamahi Hospital.
