Guidelines on religious offerings have yet to be implemented two years after the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation issued them.
The ministry issued the guidelines on October 18, 2016 to manage the offerings, either in cash or kind offered by devotees at various religious places like temples, monasteries and churches.
The guidelines would be effective at shrines that are visited by more than 50 pilgrims daily or 20,000 annually.
Apart from a few places of worship like Pashupatinath Temple and Kalika Temple of Baglung, most of the pilgrimages are yet to introduce this system.
The Pashupatinath temple has deposited Rs180 million so far in its trust account. The amount was collected only from donation boxes and deposited in the account after deducting the expenses.
