A person died after being hit by a tipper at Okharpauwa in Kakani Rural Municipality of Nuwakot district.
Local Sher Bahadur Balami died when he was hit by the tipper on Monday evening. Situation at Kagatigaun where Balami died became tense after locals vandalised the tipper. Police had to fire in the air to take situation under control.
Normality resumed only after the tipper owner agreed to provide Rs 2.1 million to the deceased family. As per the agreement Rs 100,000 was provided to the family and the remaining Rs 2 million will be provided within 35 days.
District police chief SP Basanta Bahadur Kunwar said the situation is slowly returning to normal.
