Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that education is the key to develop Farwest.
Inaugurating the seventh senate of the Far-Western University at his official residence in Baluwatar, Kathmandu, on Sunday, Prime Minister Oli assured there will be a qualitative improvement in education system within a year if the Far-Western University produces technical human resources.
The prime minister, who is also the chancellor of the university, said that two committees had also been formed to investigate into the controversies surrounding the university.
Two committees under the leadership of member of the National Planning Commission, Usha Jha, and Secretary of the Finance Ministry, have been formed to inquire into the controversies related to its constituent campuses and financial transactions of the university, he added.
The committees have been asked to submit the reports to the Prime Minister within 15 days. The senate of the university was put off in order to organise it again after carrying out study of committees’ reports.
Similarly, Minister for Education, Science and Technology Girirajmani Pokharel, also the pro-chancellor of the university, said the Far-Western University should focus on providing quality education.
