Province 2 Internal Affairs and Law Minister Gyanendra Yadav has staged a sit-in in front of Nepal Rastra Bank district office in Janakpur for opening the office on holiday.

Government offices including District Administration Office, Nepal Rastra Bank, District Court, among others, have remained open in province 2 despite the provincial government announcing public holiday on Sunday for Krishna Janmastami.

A cabinet meeting of the province on Thursday announced a public holiday on Sunday for the festival.

The offices had previously remained open despite the provincial government announcing holiday on Rakshya Bandhan and Janai Purnima.

Minister Yadav had locked Nepal Rastra Bank district office in Janakpur for opening on Rakshya Bandhan.
