The two children, who had gone missing after falling into an irrigation canal at Jhumka in Ramdhuni Municipality of Sunsari district, have been found dead on Tuesday.
According to the police, two children of one local Dinesh Khadka—9-year-old AshwinKhadka and 11-year-old SrijanaKhadka—were swept away after they fell into the canal of Sunsari-Morang Irrigation Project while they were washing dishes.

The police informed that the bodies of two children were found buried under the mud deposited by the canal water.
The bodies were retrieved with the assistance of Nepal Army, Nepal Police personnel and locals among others.
