A cyclist died and seven others were injured in a road accident at Lamkichuha municipality-8 of Kailali district on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Pancharam Chaudhary, 65, of Lamkichuha municipality-9, said Hari Bahadur Oli, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kailali.

The accident took place when a micro-bus (Bhe 1 Ja 635) heading towards Dhangadhi from Nepalgunj hit the cycle Chaudhary was riding while crossing the road. Chaudhary died on the way to hospital for treatment.

Similarly, seven passengers travelling on the micro-bus received minor injuries in the accident and they are receiving treatment at Ratna Hospital, Tikapur, added Oli. Police have arrested the driver and impounded the vehicle. RSS
