Province 7 has formed a five-member committee to determine the name and the capital of the province.

A meeting of the Province Assembly on Monday formed the committee under Nepal Communist Party Chief Whip Tara Lama Tamang to study the possible places that could become the capital city of the province, as well as suggest names for the province.

The opposition lawmakers have been criticising the provincial government for not deciding the name and the capital of the province.

It is said that the lawmakers are sharply divided on the issue of designating the capital city. On the possible name of the province, it is said that the lawmakers are likely to pick between  Khaptad or Seti-Mahakali.
