A woman died and 15 others were injured when a microbus collided with a truck at Chirkane in Byas Municipality-12 of Tanahun district along the Prithvi Highway on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Sabina Rai of Bokshing Municipality, Bhojpur district, according to the District Police Office, Tanahun.

The microbus (Ba 2 Kha 1138) heading towards Pokhara from Kathmandu collided head-on with the truck (Ba 4 Kha 1124) this morning.

Critically injured in the accident, Rai breathed her last during the course of treatment at the Pokhara-based Manipal Hospital.

Among the injured, three are receiving treatment at the Pokhara-based Metro City Hospital while 12 are undergoing treatment at the Damauli-based Ratnahari Memorial Hospital, police said. RSS
