Rupandehi Urban Development chief arrested with 3.6 million bribe

Commission for Investigation for Abuse of Authority (CIAA) arrested Rupandehi Urban Development and Building Construction chief Suresh Thakur with Rs 3.6 million bribe on Saturday.
CIAA team from Hetauda arrested engineer Thakur and his wife with the cash from Bhairahawa while they were heading home to Birgunj.
CIAA office Butwal’s officer Suresh Bhusal said they recouped some amount of the bribe while confiscated bank vouchers of remaining amount.
Similarly, CIAA team from Butwal also arrested Tamghas-Simaltari-Pyuthan road project sub-engineer Prakash Jha with Rs 100,000 bribe from his home in Tamghas, Gulmi, on Saturday morning.
