Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali has said Nepal has been on track in its aim to join the middle-income country club in the next 12 years.
“The country is advancing towards the path to development and prosperity with the end of instability and transition. The people have given a mandate for establishing stability and prosperity. The incumbent government is working towards that end,” Minister Gyawali said at an interaction on Tuesday. He is on an official visit to Portugal at the invitation of his Portuguese counterpart Augusto Santos Silva.
The government is working to create environment conducive to attract foreign investment, he said, adding “Nepal will use various channels like neighbouring countries, development partners, labour receiving countries and United Nations in this regard.”
Saying that Nepal is enjoying hands-off approach from neighbouring India and China, Gyawali said the ties with them are moving ahead smoothly.
