Cadres of Tarun Dal and Nepal Student Union, youth wings of Nepali Congress, shut down government offices and obstructed vehicular movement at East West Highway on Sunday.

The youth wing said their picketing of administration office for an hour and obstructing highway was to protest the police intervention in New Baneshwor protest on Saturday and in support of the demands put forth by Dr Govinda KC.

Vehicles queued up on highway stranding thousands of passengers as a result of the shutdown.
