Nepal Medical Association (NMA) has announced to halt all hospital services, except for emergency care, across the country on Thursday to protest the ‘government’s apathy’ for the demands of Dr Govinda KC who has been staging a hunger strike in Jumla for the past 19 days.
In solidarity with Dr KC’s demands, NMA doctors have decided not to attend any cases, except for emergency ones, on Thursday.
The association has also appealed to all medical professionals in Kathmandu Valley to joint a protest at Maitighar Mandala at Thursday.
NMA Chair Muktiram Shrestha said hospital services would be shut indefinitely nationwide if the government continued to ignore their call.
