A portion of Narayangadh-Muglin road caved in near Gaighat in Chitwan on Wednesday. However, one-way vehicular movement has operated.
According to Narayangadh-Muglin road project information officer, Engineer Shiva Khanal, a huge landslide occurred in the area on Tuesday evening, resulting in the cave-in.
“The road sank near Gaighat, 17-km towards Muglin from Narayangadh. Half of around 20-meter stretch of the road has collapsed. The road is likely collapse further. However, one-way vehicular movement has been operated,” said Khanal. “A team of experts has arrived to assess the cause of the collapse.”
Almost 95 percent of the road expansion work that was initiated three years ago has been completed.
