At least 18 people have been injured after a microbus met with an accident along the Koshi Highway in Dhankuta on Friday.
According to the police, the microbus (Ko 1 Kha 2847), en route to Dharan from Hile, met with an accident at Ramailo Ghumti along the Dharan-Dhankuta road section in Dhankuta-7 after its break failed.
Two of the injured—Kamala Bhujel, 50, of Dhankuta-6 and Suraj Tamang, 18, of Pakhrebas Municipality-5—are reported to be in serious condition and have been referred to Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences by the District Hospital, Dhankuta, informed Dhankuta Police Chief SP Surendra Bahadur Gurung.
The remaining 16 injured are receiving medical treatment at the district hospital.
