The Tehrathum District Natural Disaster Rescue Committee has identified 15 settlements as landslide-prone areas and alerted their residents about the danger this monsoon.
Chief District Officer Bednidhi Khanal said the people of the concerned settlements had been notified about the danger of landslide.
They have been urged to make necessary reparations against landslide-related disasters, he added.The committee is also raising awareness and conducting disaster preparedness programmes in the settlements.
According to the district office of the Red Cross, the villages of Basantapur, Angdim, Ambung, Ishibu, Jirikhimti, Khamlalung, Oyakjung, Phulek and Sungnam are vulnerable to landslides.
