At least nine people were injured when a truck carrying excavator plunges into Koshi River at Koshi Barrage in Sunsari on Wednesday.
At least nine people were injured when a truck carrying excavator plunges into Koshi River at Koshi Barrage in Sunsari on Wednesday.
According to police, a truck belonging to Raut Construction en route to Hetauda fell into the river along with nine people including people travelling in the truck and excavator operators.
The police were able to rescue all nine people on time from the river.
Of the rescued, Santosh Adhikari, Hari Magar and Maniraj Bishwakarma were seriously injured and have been receiving medical treatment at Biratnagar.
According to Sunsari Police SP Rajan Bhattarai, excavator operator Ghanashyam Chaudhary and truck driver Binod have been brought to District Hospital, Inaruwa for medical attention. While four others injured are yet to be identified.
