Ganga Maya hunger strike: PM, NHRC Chair meet to discuss demands

The meeting between PM Oli and NHRC Chairman Sharma took place at 11:30am this morning.
Ganga Maya, who has been seeking justice for the murder of her son Krishna Prasad Adhikari for the past 13 years, began her hunger strike soon after the government decided to grant amnesty to murder-convict Bal Krishna Dhungel on the Republic Day.
Ganga Maya is currently receiving medical treatment at a special bed at Bir Hospital following deterioration of her health condition.
Erstwhile CPN (Maoist Center) leader Balkrishna Dhungel, a convict for the 1998 murder of Ujjan Kumar Shrestha of Okhaldhunga, was released from Dillibazaar prison after receiving Presidential Pardon on May 29.
