Operation of jet boats in Koshi River has been affected on Tuesday due to rise in the water level following rainfall.
However, the boat rides have not been completely halted as operators have been resuming the service soon after the water level recedes and the water becomes clear.
Meanwhile, commuters are facing problems with the irregular boat service. A jet boat ferries 25-35 people eight times on Saturday and five times on week days, however, on Tuesday it could make only one trip as the river brought tree logs swept during the downpour upstream.
The jet boat provides services to Bhojpur, Hatuwagadi, Chuhar, Aamchok towards Dudh Koshi and Simle of Shahid Bhumi Rural Municipality in Dhankuta towards the Arun River.
Amit Bhagat, a member of Barah Area Water Transport and Tourism Service Pvt Ltd, which operates the jet boat, said that the service could be halted for over three months in case of heavy downpour in the coming days.
