District Court, Arghakhanchi has slapped 12 year prison sentence to a person here on charges of cow slaughter.
Court Information Officer Tek Raj Gaire informed that a single bench of judge Ram Chandra Poudel issued the verdict against one Yam Bahadur Khatri of Bhotepokhara in Bhumikasthan Municipality-2 for killing three cows.
Khatri had killed one red and two black-coloured cows that were tied in a cowshed by hitting them with an axe in their heads.
Khatri’s neighbor Baldev Bhat had lodged the complaint against the former accusing him of cow slaughter.
