Police arrested two persons in charge of murdering a newly-born baby from Bhimdutta Municipality in Kanchanpur district.

Santosh Okheda, 19, and Ganga Okheda, 30, were arrested on Friday.

The duo, in-laws by relation, had murdered the child born after an illicit relationship between them. Police was informed about the murder by villagers.

Ganga’s husband is abroad for employment.

District Police Kanchanpur DSP Gyan Bahadur Sethi said they had strangled the baby to death. The dead body was found inside their home.
