Transport Minister wealthiest, two women ministers poorest in Oli-Cabinet

According to property details submitted at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers on Wednesday, Minister Mahaseth has stated that most of his properties are in the ownership of his spouse Juli Kumari Mahato.
The Transport Minister has stated that his wife has bank accounts in Nabil, Machhapuchre, Investment, NIC Asia and Everest Banks. However, Minister Mahaseth has not disclosed the amount.
However, Minister Mahaseth has declared Rs7.2 million in cash along with 27 tola gold and 25 tola gold received as dowry, one-and-a-half-kg silver ornaments including rings and chains among others in his property details.
According to the submitted details, a 4,200 sq ft two storied house in Janakpur Muncipality-9, Dhanus, 5,800 sq ft two storied house in Lalitpur Sub-Metropolitan City-25 are in the name of Mahaseth’s spouse. While, Minister Mahaseth has listed his parental property as a 6,500 sq ft land in Mithila Bihari Municipality-3 in Dhanusha. Minister Mahaseth’s wife also has an 8 bigha land in Chireshwor Municipality, Dhanusha and lands in Kamalamai, Sindhuli, Nakkhu and Dhobighat Lalitpur.
Likewise, Minister Mahaseth’s spouse has shares worth Rs 70,000 in Goodwill Finance, Kathmandu, Rs370 million in NVPL Pvt Ltd, Rs 25 million in Corporate Bank, Birgunj, Rs 15 million in Laxmi Bank, Kathmandu and Rs 5 million in Women’s Right and Development Centre.
Meanwhile, Ministers duo Women, Children and Senior Citizen Minister Thapa and Drinking Water Minister Magar have the least amount of property.
Minister Thapa has disclosed 7 anna land she inherited from her mother and Rs 15,000 received as earthquake relief as her properties.
While, Minister Bina Magar has stated that she does not own any properties and the 2 kattha land in Chitwan and a scooter belongs to her late husband Prakash Dahal.
Similarly, Magar’s mother-in-law and CPN Co-Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s spouse, Sita Dahal has 1 kattha land in Chitwan in her name and a bank account in Everest Bank with zero amount.
