Storm-hit people forced to live under open sky

Hundreds of families affected by Sunday night’s storm are forced to live under open sky in Bardiya, Kailali, Kanchanpur and Dang districts. The storm had blown away the roofs of more than 600 homes in the region.
A woman was killed and seven other people were injured.
District Police Office, Bardiya, said the storm destroyed 75 homes and damaged 155 others at places like Barbardiya, Madhuwan, Thakurbaba, Rajapur and Geruwa.
Meanwhile, the disrupted power supply in Bardiya, Kailali and Kanchanpur districts has partially resumed from Tuesday . In Kailali,hundreds of students have been affected after the storm blew away the roofs of 47 schools. Farmers in the district have also been greatly affected after their crops were flattened by high wind.
