With the 2018 Everest climbing season officially beginning from Sunday, at least 94 climbers stood atop the world highest peak Mount Everest on Wednesday. Among them, 41 are foreigners and 53 Nepalis.

According to Gyanendra Shrestha, a Tourism Ministry official stationed at the Everest Base Camp, said that 94 climbers successfully reached atop the summit of Mount Everest today. 

The expedition started after eight Sherpa fixed ropes to the Mount Everest.

Earlier on Monday, 40 climbers successfully scaled the Mount Everest and with today’s numbers, a total of 142 climbers scaled the tallest peak of the world so far in this season. Some climbers scaled the Mount Everest from the Chinese side.

As many as 346 climbers of 38 groups have taken permission to climb the Mount Everest. Among the 38 groups, four groups are of Nepalis.

Earlier, a Chinese mountaineer who lost both legs to frostbite while attempting to climb Everest four decades ago fulfilled his dream Monday. Xia Boyu, 70, reached the top of the world’s highest peak at 8:40 am, becoming the first double leg amputee to accomplish the feat from the Nepal side.
