Will scrap companies failing to complete hydro projects: Minister Pun

Speaking with mediapersons after conducting a field visit of various hydro electric projects in Rasuwa district on Sunday, Minister Pun said the government is planning to generate over 10,000 mega watts of electricity within the next 10 years.
“We have set a goal to generate over 10,000 mega watts of electricity within the next 10 years,” said Minister Pun, during a press conference organised by Rasuwa Chapter of Press Centre at Syafrubesi, “We will scrap the registration of any company who fail to complete the project by just sitting over it.”
As part of his site visit, Minister Pun took stock of the works being conducted at 37 MW Trishuli 3B, 60 MW Upper Trishuli 3A, 216 MW Upper Trishuli 1.
Likewise, the Energy Minister on Saturday had visited 111 MW Rasuwagadi Hydro Electric Project, 42.3 MW Sanjen and 14.8 MW Upper Sanjen Hydro Electricity Project.
Minister Pun also directed respective hydro electric projects to complete the construction within the slated time frame.
Rasuwagadi Hydro Electric Company Managing Director Madhav Koirala informed Minister Pun that 60 percent of the works have been completed.
Similarly, 70 percent works at Sanjen and 65 percent works at Upper Sanjen Hydro Electricity Project have been completed, said Kiran Shrestha, Executive Director of the project.
