Though his term had expired more than seven months ago due to age limit, Parajuli had resigned only on March 1 after Secretary at the Judicial Council Nripa Dhoj Niroula declared that he was no longer CJ.
Manoj Adhikary had tried to file a writ petition on March 27, claiming that Parajuli had misused the rights as the chief of the judiciary, but the SC had refused to register it citing lack of evidence. In the writ, Adhikary had demanding a contempt of court order against Parajuli for attempting to influence his case by threatening Dr Govinda KC’s lawyer.
Besides, Adhikary had also claimed that Parajuli had disgraced the judiciary by assuming the top position with ‘forged’ citizenship and educational certificates.
