A teenage girl missing since Monday night was found dead near her home at Narenapur in Om Satiya Rural Municipality of Rupandehi district.

Sarswati Harijan, 14, had gone to toilet at around 9 pm Monday but did not return home. Locals had found her body on a field one kilometers away from her home.

Harijan’s family had searched for her but had not informed police about the missing girl.

Rupandehi DSP Dilli Narayan Panday said the girl has injuries to her legs and mouth. Blood was also coming out of her genitals. Locals suspected the girl might have been killed after rape.
