A youth was critically injured when a bear attacked him while fetching grass at Marsyangdi Rural Municipality in Lamjung district.
Relatives said Som Bahadur Tamang, 24, of Ghan Pokhara in the district came under the attack from the bear while fetching grass at Marda, lying on a two-hour walk from his home.
Police said Tamang has injuries to his head, mouth, neck and right hand. He was attacked by the bear on Tuesday morning but was brought to Lamjung District Community Hospital only after 12 hours. Relatives said Tamang had to be carried to the hospital for 11 hours and only got into a vehicle when they arrived Beshisahar.
Locals had to raise money for Tamang’s treatment due to the poor condition of his family.
