An elderly Japanese climber died of altitude sickness upon summiting the Mera Peak mountain on Friday.
Seventy-year-old Kasai Tadamitsu died upon reaching the summit of the peak in Mahakulung Rural Municipality, Solukhumbu.
Police said his body was brought to base camp and flown to Kathmandu on Monday.
