Two persons died after being struck by a lightning in Khotang district on Wednesday.
The deceased have been identified as Sammar Bahadur Dahal, 62, of Rupakot, Majhuwagadi Municipality-2 and Bal Kumari Khatri, 55, of Sakela Rural Municipality-2 of the district. Khatri’s husband Prem Bahadur Khatri was injured in the incident.
Police said that 11 people were injured in Province 1 after they were struck by a lightning.
The injured have been identified as Jalsari Rai, Sita Rai, Sabina Rai, Khet Bahadur Sunuwar, Tara Karki, Hari Maya Jog of Katari, Udaypur, Tara Ghimire of Bhojpur, Lala Maya Limbu, Dil Maya Limbu and Nar Bahadur Limbu of Letang Municipality-7, Morang.
Police said that the injured are receiving treatment at local health posts.
