Bus crash kills 2 and injures 45
A bus accident killed two people and left 45 injured in Dakshinkali on Thursday.The passenger bus, registration number Ba 1 Kha 999, crashed at Bhanjyang-3 at 9am, 13 km south of Balkhu, after the front-left tyre came out while the bus was in motion, police said.

The bus belongs to Dakshinkali Yatayat. It was travelling from Pharping, Dakshinkali to Ratna Park with 46 passengers on board.
Police identified the deceased as Manju Basnet, 42, and Sunil Shrestha, 25, of Dakshinkali municipality-5.
Metropolitan Traffic Police Division Spokesperson Umesh Ranjitkar said Basnet and Shrestha died on the way to Vayodha Hospital in Balkhu.
The authorities admitted the injured passengers into different hospitals in Kathmandu - Vayodha Hospital (17); Pharping-based Manamohan Memorial Community Hospital (18); Bir Hospital (4); and Star Hospital, Sanepa (6).
Metropolitan Police Range DSP Mohan Thapa said they have booked the bus driver and impounded the vehicle. The helper has sustained minor injury.
The bus accident has disrupted the traffic along the Pharping-Kathmandu road.
The 13.5 kms road that links Balkhu-Dakshinkali has many potholes and thick soil dust. This bad condition prevails for the last two years. The Dakshinkali Yatayat bus officials said the bad condition of the road caused the bus accident.
Talking to the Post, Dakshinkali Municipality Mayor Mohan Basnet said, “Although traffic police claimed technical problems, the rough road is another reason. We are aware of the problem. We have repeatedly requested the Department of Road to repair the road, but they have taken no action so far.”
Lorry falls off bridge A lorry and jeep collision on Hugdi Khola Bridge in Jogimara, Dhading on Thursday injured six people.
Police said the lorry (registration number Na 7 Kha 942) en route to Chitwan from Lakahu collided with Scorpio vehicle (Ba1 Ya1264) in Hudgi Khola along the Prithvi Highway and then fell down from the bridge.
The authorities rushed the injured to Chitwan for treatment.
The District Traffic Police Office speculates speeding may have caused the accident.
Unconfirmed report says 11 vehicles have fallen down from the bridge in the past four years.
One dead, four injured
Rampur: A dumper truck (Na. 1 Kha. 9005) carrying passengers from Butwal to Palpa lost control and fell 35 meters off the road, killing one teenager and injuring four others.
District Police Office said the accident happened at Jhumsa in Tinau Rural Municipality-3, Palpa.
Police identified the deceased as Devendra Lamtari,17, of Deurali from Ribdikot Rural Municipality. He died while receiving medical treatment at the Lumbini Zonal Hospital.
The injured passengers are receiving treatment at the same hospital.
