A 60-year-old man beat his wife to death at Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality- 3, Bamrang in Khotang.

Makardhwaj Rai allegedly beat his spouse Aaisari Rai, 50, with a bamboo flat stick over a domestic dispute, leaving her dead. The incident took place on Monday evening, the District Police Office, Khotang confirmed. The woman was staying at her parental home with her husband.

Police preliminary investigations into the case showed that the wife attempted to attack her husband under the influence of alcohol and in return the man beat her with a bamboo stick.

Following the incident, the accused is in the police custody while the dead body has been kept at the District Hospital, Diktel for a post-mortem. RSS
