CPN-UML lawmaker Ganesh Timilsena has been elected unopposed as the National Assembly (NA) Chairman as he was the only candidate to file nomination for the post.
Speaking to journalists, Timilsena who had reached the Election Officer’s office to file his nomination paper on Monday said, “I will handle the responsibilities of the National Assembly as the Chairman in a right way.”
Earlier, the left alliance of CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Centre) had reached an agreement that CPN (Maoist Centre) would take the post of House Speaker and UML would take the responsibility of the post of NA Chairman.
