Police have arrested two men from Kathmandu in connection with the murder of a youth in Tikapur during celebration of Holi festival on Friday.
Province-7 Police Chief AIG Madhav Nepal said Sandeep Rawal and Sagar Pandey were arrested for their alleged involvement in stabbing 22-year-old Karan Thapa to death. A police team mobilised by Kailali Police arrested the duo from Balaju, Kathmandu. Both the accused are permanent residents of Tikapur.
“The details of the incident are yet to be known,” said AIG Nepal. “Police have been carrying out further investigation into the incident.” The irate locals, who had enforced shutdown in Tikapur for following the murder, lifted the strike today. Police said the body of deceased Thapa has been cremated.
