The general strike called by Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN Maoist demanding the immediate release of its cadres has affected the life of general public in Butwal on Tuesday.
Transport service, industry, local market and educational institution in the area have been shutdown following the banda.
A huge number of security personnel have been deployed in various chowks of the town.
According to the police, there have been no incidents of vandalism or violence.
