Indian PM Modi, Chinese PM Li congratulate PM Oli
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on his appointment as the 38th Prime Minister of Nepal on Thursday. During the phone conversation, PM Modi said that he was eager to welcome PM Oli to India adding that the southern neighbour would provide every possible assistance for the development of Nepal.
In response, PM Oli thanked the Indian Prime Minster saying that his sole focus is on the development of Nepal and will continue his efforts to strengthen the relationship between the two countries.
Meanwhile, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Manjeet Singh Puri reached PM Oli’s residence in Balkot and handed over the congratulatory letter from the Indian Prime Minister. In the letter, Indian PM Modi has expressed that the nation will find stability, economic development and prosperity under PM Oli’s leadership.

Similarly, Indian Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj also called PM Oli and congratulated him.
Likewise, Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang has congratulated Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on the latter's assumption of the office of the Prime Minister of Nepal.
In a message on Thursday, Chinese Prime Minister Li said that Nepal-China relations would be further strengthened during Oli's tenure, and that both the countries would work jointly in the areas of bilateral interests.
In the message, the Chinese PM has promised to extend support in different areas of bilateral interests under the One Belt, One Road (OBOR) initiative.
