Prithivi Subba Gurung was unanimously elected as UML’s Parliamentary Party leader of Province 4.

Another leader Kiran Gurung decided not to file his candidacy paving way for Prithivi Subba Gurung for the post. Kiran Gurung decided against candidacy following party Chairman KP Sharma Oli's direction to maintain unity in the party.

Kiran Gurung said he accepted directions from the party leadership and will continue his works as party’s provincial in-charge.
