Province-1 held its first Provincial Assembly meeting at the temporary capital here Monday.
The meeting was chaired by the senior most-member Om Prakash Sarawagi. Lawmakers started expressing their views after Sarabagi read out the letter received from the province chief Govinda Bahadur Tumbahamphe regarding the first session.
Six lawmakers from each party and one independent member spoke at the meeting. The meeting also endorsed an interim province assembly regulation procedure-2074 BS to be effective until speaker was elected.
Earlier, the meeting observed a minute's silence in the name of martyrs. The next meeting is scheduled for February 12 when the election for the speaker will also be held.
