People’s representatives can cast their ballot for the National Assembly elections can by showing their IDs issued for the local, provincial and parliamentary elections or their citizenship certificates, the Election Commission has said.
The EC eased the process for Provincial Assembly members, and chiefs and deputy chiefs of the local governments to vote even without their certificates of election.
The Electoral College votes for 56 members in the 59-strong Assembly, with eight each coming from the seven provinces.
As 24 have already been elected to the Upper House unopposed, there are 52 candidates vying for the remaining 32 positions.
The silence period for the February 7 poll starts from Sunday mid-night. (PR)
