Sanjay Tiwari of Mayadevi Rural Municipality-1 had registered the case in December last year against Yadav and a local Rajesh Kalwar for forging signature on a bank cheque.
Tiwari in his complaint has stated that Yadav and Kalwar had misappropriated fund while they were chairperson and secretary respectively of Consumers’ Forum formed to upgrade the Barrohiya-Pachehara road in Mayadevi Rural Municiaplity-1. Tiwari was the treasurer of the Forum.
The District Development Committee had made a payment of Rs 600,000 to the Consumers’ Forum for upgrading the road in fiscal year 2016-17. Tiwari has accused the duo of forging his signature to withdraw the last installment of the fund amounting to Rs 72,000.
“I had assigned workers on the project. Now they come for payment. But they [Yadav & Kalwar] have already withdrawn the money by forging my signature,” said Tiwari.
The bank account of the Forum needed joint signatures of chairperson, secretary and treasurer to withdraw the money. The money [Rs 72,000] had been drawn on the name of Kalwar from Rastriya Banijya Bank, Tawlihawa, in July last year.
Tiwari had made a complaint about the illegal withdrawal of the money at Rural Municipality office in October last year. The Rural Municipality Chairman Bajrangi Chaudhary said that the duo [Yadav and Kalwar] did not appear at the office despite repeated summons.
