Complaint filed against Parki’s nomination

CPN-UML Dalit candidate Chakra Prasad Snehi had filed the complaint against Parki at the office of election officer at Silgadhi, Doti district on Friday.
Snehi filed the complaint against Parki arguing that he is a member of the Melauni Municipality, Baitadi, Chief Election Officer Jayananda Paneru confirmed. He demanded annulment of Parki’s nomination.
Parki had already furnished clarification at the election office over the complaint filed against him.
Paneru said that the issue would be resolved by Saturday evening.
The Election Commission has fixed 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Friday to register a complaint against the candidate at the respective Election Officer’s office.
Six candidates have been elected unopposed under the open and women category after no complaints were filed against them.
Badri Prasad Pandey from Nepali Congress, Sher Bahadur Kunwar from CPN-UML and Hari ram Chaudhary of CPN (Maoist Centre) have been elected unopposed under the open category.
Similarly, Tara Devi Bhatta from Nepali Congress, Kamala Oli from CPN-UML and Indu Kadariya have been elected unopposed under the women category.
The Election Commission has said that the official announcement of those elected unopposed would be made public while publishing the final list on Monday.
The election for National Assembly member would be held among the candidates who have filed nominations under the Dalit, marginalised and differently able category.
Sereram Parki has filed his candidacy from Nepali Congress under Dalit quota while Chakra Parasad Snehi has filed his nomination from CPN-UML.
Likewise, Chatra Raj Joshi of Nepali Congress and Mahesh Kumar Mahara have filed their nominations from marginalised and differently-abled category respectively.
