A high altitude worker from Chhintang, Dhankuta district, died of altitude sickness on Tuesday. Ashok Rai, 35, was airlifted to the Pokhara-based Western Regional Hospital by a helicopter after he had altitude sickness at Nesang-7 in Manang district. Rai was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital, said police. He had gone to the Manang area as a high altitude worker with a team of South Korean tourists.
